Outlander Cast Finalized

I don’t know.  I don’t watch TV (except Arrow and that doesn’t count), so I have some trepidation about one of my ALL TIME favorite books (yes, I have read all 8 billion of them [Oh – it only seems like there are that many?  My bad 😉 ] ) being turned into a television series.  I have watched in horror as some of my most beloved books in the world have been reduced to a smoldering pile of rubbish just to entertain the masses (read the books!!) who do not want to bother getting off the couch or giving up the remote to click thru channels during commercials.  I will admit there have been some decent remakes of books (none come to mind at the moment, but give me a week or two and I will come up with one), so I am hoping it won’t be THAT bad. Perhaps I am being presumptuously judgmental – I have been known to do so, and I freely admit it; albeit I am not usually wrong – and this will be a marvelous ride into the tale of of the Fraser’s, whom I have come to love and cherish as much as my own family.  It is being filmed in Scotland (thank the gods), so it has that in its favor, and the cast, while mostly unknown, seem to have the blessing of the author herself, which is usually a good sign.  I do not get Starz on my cable package currently, so I will have to wait to see if it comes on Netflix or Hulu or even on their own website to watch.  One of my most beloved love stories in years (for years) being turned into a TV series. Balfe joins previously announced cast members Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser), Tobias Menzies (Frank Randall/Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall), Graham McTavish (Dougal MacKenzie), Gary Lewis (Colum MacKenzie), Duncan Lacroix (Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser), Annette Badland (Mrs. Fitzgibbons) and Stephen Walters (Angus Mhor). We shall just have to wait and see, won’t we?  Diana – I hope you know what you are doing.  🙂
